Well, USCellular's lack of data services finally is a good thing. Unlike most carriers they don't offer a plan that lets you use your phone as a modem. However, because they do offer general data services on the phones themselves, it's quite easy to do this despite lack of official support. The only downside is the possibility of cancellation if I use too much bandwidth. The biggest upside is that I pay a mere $10/month for unlimited data transfer, and the cheapest tethering plan from any other carrier is $30/month.

I just saw a commercial on TV for a patent medicine that was homeopathic in nature. For those of you that don't know, homeopathy is thus:
1. Find a substance that causes the symptom you wish to combat.
2. Dilute it to the point where it can't possibly cause harm (often to the point where there is none of the original substance in the solution)
3. In this form, the mix will alleviate the symptom the full strength version caused.

Of course, this is bullshit, for obvious reasons. I'm just surprised that somebody is actually trying to sell this snake oil. I would think that it would be illegal to make any claims about what your shit can do, as the only possible cause of symptom relief would be the placebo effect.

More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeopathy

I have concluded that Stargate SG-1 has become Farscape. Doubters, note that the two newest main characters are the two main characters from Farscape.

Additionally, Stargate Atlantis seems to be (from the little of it I've seen) Andromeda. Particularly note the two scruffy animalistic type guys in both.

I fear that I shall never understand people.

The other night, a friend asked me what I would learn, if I could learn one single thing instantly. My answer, after much thought, was understanding other people. It was pointed out that this implies that people are logical, rational, and can be systematically understood, and that this is not the case. All the same, I still think I'd go with even the smallest understanding of other people. I don't even want some sort of supernatural ability or anything, just the ability to read people that others seem to have. Of course, it could just be that other people are more confident, or something. I don't know. Maybe it would help instead to just tell people what the whole truth, outright from the start. Assuming of course one knows the truth.

... And I'm rambling.
